The Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) on June 19, 2026, issued circular regarding the Submission of Quarterly Progress Reports (QPRs) for the Financial Year 2026-27 in Compliance with the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.
The Karnataka Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) has reiterated that promoters are mandatorily required to submit quarterly progress updates for their registered real estate projects on the Authority’s website, as per the provisions of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 and the Karnataka RERA Rules, 2017. These updates must be filed within specified timelines each quarter—by July 15, October 15, January 15, and April 15.
The Authority has enabled an online system for submission of these quarterly reports, which must continue until the project reaches 100% completion across all development activities. Once full completion is reported, a final summary sheet is automatically generated, and the architect is required to certify the completion through the final quarterly update.
It has been observed that many promoters are not complying with the requirement of timely submission of quarterly updates. The Authority has emphasized that it holds the power to issue binding directions and impose penalties under the Act for non-compliance.
Promoters are therefore strictly instructed to adhere to the prescribed deadlines for the financial year, failing which penalties may be imposed under Sections 61 and 63 of the Act. These penalties may extend up to 5% of the estimated project cost, including additional daily penalties for continued default.
